Update 8th October 2012

Welcome to yet another Monday. I have found myself on the northside today so I thought why not call into Manly for the early and see what was going down. It's a different world over here compared to the eastside today. My guess is that it still probably looks like a dog's breakfast back at Bondi. Over here I am enjoying the sun and the sheltered water as I sip on my latte writing this report from a park bench on the beach.

By no means is it pumping over here but it is shoulder high and the occasional one will stand up and give you a good ride. If you can't get over here hold out for the afternoon session as the swell is on the decrease and wind should ease making the eastside a little bit more manageable.

Enjoy your day – Brad

Update 5th October 2012

I am a little behind schedule today. I stayed in the water with the camera a little longer than I should have this morning. Can you blame me? On days like these I tend to slow the pace down and soak it all in, grab a coffee, have a chat and just really enjoy the sunshine. Before you know it time gets the better of you.

Hopefully it was worth the wait for you guys. I lurked under the waves for a good hour and a half this morning at Bondi trying to capture something special for your Friday feast of images. There is a really fun knee/waist high right reeler in the south corner and as the images suggest, the water is just spectacular!

Now you have to visit the Quicksilver Pro in France today. You just have to. French Franck Gazzola will kill me if I don't include the link!

I heard last nights surf movie "Immersion" by Tim Bonython was a great night. Hope you scored a Frothers Trucker Hat. Now your cool bro's!

Enjoy the weekend – There will be plenty of swell!

Update 4th October 2012

Glorious is the word for today. It was a totally clear sky at sunrise with hardly a breath of wind. The real bonus is for the surfers, as the swell is up a little on yesterday.

Maroubra has a few nice peaks as the direction is little more east. Bondi is also offering a decent surf option as the tide fills in.

Don’t forget, the re-edit of Tim Bonython’s incredible surf movie ‘Immersion’ is playing tonight at North Bondi RSL. Tickets are $25 at the door or save yourself $5 and book online HERE.

Frothers will be giving away a prize to some lucky person tonight – A large acrylic mounted surfing image, ready to hang on your wall. So be there for your chance to win!

Have a great day!

Update 3rd October 2012

Have you looked out the window? What more can I say except I hope you take full advantage of this glorious day. The swell from yesterday has backed right off leaving fun waist high waves for a good old bunch of surfers on the south bank at Bondi. Yep it was packed. Collisions, dings, words all the usual stuff going on.

I swam with the camera rig flipperless this morning thanks to some chump that lifted them out of the back of my ute last night. Karma will get you my friend! Hopefully when your body surfing. May you get dumped and lose both of them in a rip. Remember to raise your arm for assistance!

If you haven't got your tickets yet to Tim Bonythons surf movie "Immersion" at the North Bondi RSL tomorrow night then get your butt moving. Tickets are going fast. You can book online HERE for $20 or else it is $25 at the door. $15 for groms! Frothers will be giving away one of Bill Morris's acrylic mounted 24inch x 16inch image of Ryan Hipwood in the lucky door prize. It will look amazeballs on your wall! So there is even more incentive to make an appearance.

Soak up that sun folks – Brad

Update 2nd October 2012

To give you more strength, you can scream ''Banzaïïïïïïïïï !''…That's what the Japanese kamikazes used to shout when they purposely crashed their planes on the US war ships !

The ride today, is pretty much a take-off, a straight line,…and a wipe-out, just like the Japanese soldiers !

That being said, if you're lucky, Bondi offered some nice (fat) shoulders…but you have to be on them. It's not easy: difficult to really find a defined peak. The best bet is probably just in front of the Bondi Pavillon. Forget about the South end.

Let's hope the swell will clean up as the day goes, just like the sky finally cleared up. It's now a nice day outside (at 5am, when I left my place, I thought the weather man had been lying to me, big time !).

Local Artist Martin Greer is running an exhibition of his oil paintings showcasing 9 decades of longboard surfing at Bondi. The opening night is this Thursday at 6.30pm and will run through to 21st October at the Bondi Pavillion Galllery. His work is amazing and worth a look. Go check it out !

Enjoy the day !
