Update 22nd May 2013

Damn it was chilly out there this morning. 4 layers of cloth and a beanie just didn't cut it down there at Bondi. The wind is fresh from the WSW meaning wave faces are generally smooth out. I did see some 4 footers but mostly 3 footers are hitting the line up. There's plenty of waves. Heaps actually – Plenty of consistency still in this little S swell that keeps on keeping on.

There are plenty of sand banks to choose from too. South corner, 2nd ramp lefts and 3rd ramp rights all looking the goods. The hard part is deciding on where to paddle out.

Apparently we are in for some rain in the next few days. It might get ugly out there….

Get into it while you can – Brad 😉

Update 21st May 2013

Another glorious morning with light winds and clean swell lines marching in. Yes, the waves are still there, even though it has dropped a little.

I’d get on the case today if you want one with a smooth wall as it’s going to drop, rain and turn onshore, in that order over the next two days. We should have some more waves coming again on the weekend but the weather may be a little chillier.

The water is still quite warm for this time of year at around the 20 degree mark and definitely warmer in then out, so no need for too thick a wetsuit today, a 2mm or 3/2 short arm is quite sufficient. Maybe keep the warmer full suit dry for when the weather deteriorates.

Have fun!

Update 20th May 2013

Just a quick update today folks! There is no lack of swell out there. I can tell you that much. The south swell has jacked overnight and it's hitting the 5 ft mark on the sets. Conditions are very nice indeed. A light SW wind is grooming the wave faces in true Autumn style. The sprint down to the waters edge will feel very chilly but you'll be stoked once you hit the warm water!

The swell will hang in there for the next few days at least.

Now we're off to our weekly midwife appointment. The grom isn't too far away now!

Enjoy the day! – Brad 😉

Update 17th May 2013

It is a fabulous Friday out there today and full of smiles thanks to the gang from ONEWAVE They donned the fluro for their weekly board meeting at Bondi once again and the weather didn't let them down. The star of the show was the blow up swan… Hands down!

It is tiny (ok for a log) but be patient. By the time you get home from work there will be some fresh waves around to hit before you get stuck into a few beers to start the weekend. Don't do it the other way around of course. Bondi is already full of wonky wobbly riders!

Enjoy this weekend of waves ahead. I hope you surf yourself out – Brad 😉

Update 16th May 2013

It’s nice to be doing the update on mornings like this, even if the ocean is doing it’s best to impersonate a lake right now.

Today was definitely warmer than when I stepped out the door early yesterday. It’s almost like two steps towards winter and one step back to autumn lately. Surely it can't last much longer.

Since the surf is so small today I thought we’d visit the opposite end of the spectrum and check out what the crazies have been surfing in Tahiti the last couple of days. Click HERE to take a look.

Enjoy!
