Update 6th June 2013

Not sure why I threw the hoody on this morning. It didn’t feel cold when I walked out the door but being 6am on a winter’s morning you just assume you will need it.

This crazy warm, record breaking start to winter is set to continue for a few more days yet and combined with the 22 degree water temp, it feels like we’re living on the Gold Coast instead Sydney in winter.

If you’re going by the internet you are sure to be fooled into thinking the swell has backed off but trusting a computer can be a mistake. The waves are still good out there. A touch smaller and less consistent but still over head on the sets and clean as a whistle with these magic light winds.

Make the most of it if you can. It won’t last forever.

What an amazing morning down at the beach ! Today’s got it all !

I lacked time yesterday to go and check Bronte out, whilst Bondi was firing. So today, I reckoned that Bronte would be the perfect pick for my morning shoot. I was right !!

This morning delivered sunrise-wise, wave-wise, but also chill-wise. Bronte’s got it all covered: lefts, rights, chest-high to overhead. Just ask !

It was a real pleasure to shoot…until my camera decided to get showered with salted water by the rock pool. ‘’No risk, no fun’’, ‘’No pain, no gain’’ or ‘’That’s the price to pay’’ some may say. Maybe, but at the time I thought it was a pretty expensive toll, to be honest with you. And I still think the same now. But at least, I’ve seen the shots, and some made me happy. So it was not all for nothing ! (the same happening on a windy rainy day, and I would have banged my head on the walls).

Difficult to come up with only 7 shots today, so I will be posting more on my instagram (@franckgazzola or instagram.com/franckgazzola).

Now go get wet !

The Ocean has a rapid pulse today. No shortage of waves !

Sorry for the late one. It's going to be a very quick report today…

Straight to the point: It can be a bit choppy at times, and the big ones (good overhead) tend to close-out, but for the rest, if you're picky, you could scored some pretty babies ! Top that up with the fact that only a few are in the water, you should surf yourself out pretty easily out there today!

The weather is perfect, wind is very light, the temperature outside is over the 21 mark. No reason to stay inside, unless it is to pay the rent.

Have a nice day !

Franck

Update 3rd June 2013

Just a quick one folks as I have to go and shoot because the surf is pumping again!

Brad was on the report but had some car trouble and got stuck, so I'm leaving you with some of the shots I took last Saturday for a little magazine project I was asked to shoot about the 1st day of Winter.

Let's hope it's a good one!

Rug up!
