Hi Frothers !
It was a bit chilly this morning, but such a nice morning to paddle !
There ocean has a pulse. After a few moments of nice runners in Bondi at sunrise, it quickly turned to a big close-out mess. Bronte and Tama, however, looked the goods ! I reckon Maroubra would be a nice pick too…probably the best one actually.
D-Day -4 until the Frothers Gallery Pop-up store opens ! Can’t wait to see you guys there to check out some really nice work from all Frothers Photographers + some cool work from Beau Pilgrim’s ”Salty Dog Stories” + some local sustainable candle work from SeaBorneArt (Cally Sheehan) ! We’ll also be presenting a new type of printing/framing, highly distinctive from what you usually see and….100% recycled/recyclable ! That’s plenty of good reasons to pay us a visit between 4th to 10th April from 9am to 6pm in the red container alongside Campbell Parade, just across from Roscoe Street & Maccas.

Hi Frothers !
I am just back from the long weekend and I hope that, like me, you had a blast.
I was actually difficult to grab the camera as much as I should have: the surf was so good that I just wanted to surf. I was frothing so hard that every photo I took was getting in the way to another wave I could surf. I am not sure how the South Coast looked like, but If you were up the coast, you probably scored !
For the weekend, we picked Crescent Head & RaceCourse (and a couple of local beach breaks). From the points to the beach or river mouth, we’re talking 1 to 2 minutes of uninterrupted glide. Pure joy.
I just had a look at Bondi, and it’s actually looking very nice in the local standards. Long rides. 2 to 3ft+ and quite consistent. And the sun is out, which is a bonus.
I’ll be back on the morning duty tomorrow morning.

Hi Frothers !
We can officially welcome Autumn: after a few days of unstable weather, the sun is back. It’s coming out late and sitting a lot lower in the sky already. The light is softer and makes for great sunrises. Hoodies are becoming the new uniform of the early beach-goers. And the swell…well the swell is a tad more solid, with endless offshore sprays, bathed in this morning light.
This season is so photogenic. I love it !
Tomorrow morning I’ll be driving on the road up the coast to bring back some images from a different location and mix it up a bit. Stay tuned on Instagram (@frothersgallery / @franckgazzola) or on this very newsletter early next week ! Conditions promise to be close to perfect. Fingers crossed.

Hi Frothers !
Today was someone’s birthday. Not actually someone, but something. Something that has brought joy to Friday mornings. Something that had allowed people to speak up about how well or unwell they felt in their own heads. Something that broke the heavy silence that usually goes hand in hand with depression, bi-polar or suicidal tendencies. Today was the OneWave’s 3rd Birthday ! It was celebrated at sunrise on about 52 beaches !
Good on Grant, Joel & Sam for keeping that flame alive and growing it year after year. This project has grown so much…Good on you guys: you can be proud of this.

Hi Frothers !
After a night of intense showers, the alarm went off and surprise: no rain outside !
I grabbed the camera bag, and got to the beach. Well, after 20 minutes, I had to rush back to the car to get the gear back into dry-land. There is something really unsettled about the weather lately. Difficult to predict how the next hour will look like.
There is a little more swell today, but it’s mushy and peaky. Not the best, but you can get a wave if you’re keen. The water temperature is up again, which is welcome !
How good to have 2 ozzies winning the Quiky and Roxy pro yesterday ! 2 ‘strayan yellow jerseys going into Bell’s ! ‘On ya Wilko and Tyler.
