Update 8th August 2011

After last night's rain storm I would have put money on it being horrible this morning but surprisingly it was quite the opposite. Apart from a thick cloud band on the horizon which ruined the perfect sunrise, it was clear and blue above and the waves that have been missing for the last week of spring like conditions were back!

Bondi, the south swell magnate is sucking every bit of the 3 to 4 feet of fresh new south ground swell into its wave zone. The south corner bank is peeling off nicely both ways and it didn't take long for a large group of wave starved frothers to get amongst it.

Today looks like being the biggest but there should be waves for most of the week with good off shore winds before a southerly change Thursday. For those lucky enough to have an RDO today, get out there! It's on again!

We have also posted a new gallery, welcoming our latest photographer Jonas Liebschner whose specialty is capturing nature's majestic Humpback whale on camera. Click here to see his amazing images.

Enjoy

Update 5th August 2011

It was busy down at Bondi this morning. By far the most amount of people getting their training in this winter. Soft sand runners, sprinters, bay swimmers! It was all happening. I find it amazing how a little bit of sunshine changes the mood of a whole community. Great to see and to also be apart of!

Yet again there was a good sized bunch of Frothers in the water. The "bank" was packed with learners, loggers and frothin groms making the most of the 1 footers. I feel lucky to be alive actually as i had a few close calls navigating through the commotion. Boards flying every where, drop ins etc. Water is great. Weather is, well perfect for this time of year. Get out there if you can.

It will be flat this weekend but on Monday get ready for a little push from the South. Maybe some 4 footers on the way!

Christie and I went to Rob Gray's "Hoops Exhibition" last night at "Kind Of" Gallery 72 Oxford St Darlinghurst. If your in the market for something for the wall then make sure you pay a visit to this awesome photographic documentation of suburban basketball hoops. Well done Rob!

Have a great weekend – Brad

Update 4th August 2011

What a glorious display of light to kick off the day. Not a cloud in sight early on and with a lack of swell I thought it would be a good idea to bring you some more images from near by Coogee Beach. Plenty of people opting for a quick dip this morning as it was more like a spring morning than the chill were used to at this time of year.

Swell conditions are still in the tiny range. Tama on a low tide would be your best bet for a knee high slapper. We can complain about the tiny swell but we definately can't complain about this burst of warm weather that we are currently experiencing. The thermometer is meant to hit 25 degrees today, so grab those boardies and enjoy a quick dip in the ocean if your game.

No swell expected untill Monday when we should recieve a moderate dose of Southerly groundswell. Untill then we'll have to hang tight.. I'd recommend hitting the ocean on a SUP or a quick swim. Enjoy.

Update 3rd August 2011

Mother nature turned it on this morning. I had to be quick with the camera as it didn't last long. The light sneaking in and under the clouds very quickly but at the same time making for a very colorful and dramatic start to the day. Still only very small and the only place for any kind of wave today is again Bondi. It's absolutely perfect for a log out there. If you don't have a log like me visit this site www.lifeisjustswell.com These guys make some cool logs out of California named Almond Shapes.  It's just like the one Keiran is proudly displaying in today's portrait. Thanks for the heads up mate!

24 big ones today. You might want to leave the hoody at home and take on the UV's. Maybe even hit the beach in your lunch break.

Regardless of how you spend your day have a good one! Oh and if you have a spare moment why not check our gallery out at Bronte top shops. 145C Macpherson St Bronte.

Update 2nd August 2011

Gee willy willakers. That WNW wind was fresh this morning, nipping at my ears  reminding me that winter is indeed not over. Lucky for us it will warm up to 22 degrees today. Still not much swell around. There was a bunch of 15 frothers in the south corner at Bondi sharing waves on that nice sand bank set up. Yes it's still there. All it needs is another couple of feet of swell and it will be game on again. Maybe not this week though, as the swell forecast isn't looking any good at all. If you have a longboard get on it and get stylin. That will be your only resort this week.

Bill Morris shot a good session at South Bondi last Friday. For a few pics CLICK through to our event page and see if you were caught amongst the action.

Have a great day – Brad
