Update 24th June 2011

Sunny. Winds are westerly and light. Air temp 18C, Water temp 19C. That was the info on the Bureau of Meteorology web page this morning. And doesn't it make you all warm and fuzzy! Its a cracker of a day out there and it looks like staying that way for the weekend.

Right on cue the swell has jumped up overnight to a funky 3ft from the south and surface conditions were pretty damn sweet early. Do yourself a favour and get in the water if you can. It's sensational.

Make the most of it today or this arvo after knock off because it looks like Sat/Sun will be a bit smaller.

For a visual feast cast your eyes on this SURFLINE LINK. It will sure get your froth on. There's some tasty photos in there!

Have a great day and weekend. See ya on Monday! – Brad

Update 23rd June 2011

Hi everyone, Nick Sheffield here. I've joined the Frothers Crew and I look forward to sharing weekly images with you from in and around the water.

We had picture perfect weather this morning at Bondi. Offshore winds were fanning the small 1-2ft south swell on offer. A couple of nicely shaped banks resulted in a fun early paddle for those who were up early. So despite the weak swell there were some fun sections to be had. The swell is forecast to build into the afternoon, so it will be worth a look later on for sure.

I'll be back next Thursday with my daily update and I'm looking forward to meeting some new faces in the lineup.

Have a great day – Nick

Update 22nd June 2011

It’s tiny out there. That west wind yesterday and overnight pretty much put a stop to any bump of swell hitting our shores. Its barely hitting the 1ft mark. The only saviour today would be the longboard with a couple of different sand formations along the beach at Bondi making for reasonably fun rides. If you do venture in you would be pleased to know that the water temp is warmer than the air temp. Yep, we are only looking at a top temp of 16 today.

The fellas in todays shots on the longboards are Robbie and Luke. They both work for Insight, Robbie is a designer and Luke the team manager. Looks like they have really got their lifestyle sorted with a morning paddle before hitting up the office for the day.

If your stuck at the airport today due to the Ash cloud we're feeling your pain! Hope the restrictions lift soon and you can get to where your headed!

Have a great day – Brad

Update 21st June 2011

Another glorious start to the day out there. There is still some leftovers in the line up from the SE at about 2 – sometimes 3ft. Bondi once again was the pick of the bunch and is still very warm in the water for this time of year. The usual crowd were out. Otis Carey was up to his usual tricks while Julia, Tim Ok and Deadly scored some good ones as well. Lifeguard Azza Graham measured the water temp at a balmy 19.5 degrees meaning its short arm steamers all day long. Like yesterday make the most of it now as the NNW wind is expected to cause havoc later getting up to 55km.

Lucas and Dylan, the two young lads in todays lot of photo's are from Redham high school and were out surfing Bondi for their school sport. Lucas wants to play footy for St George while Dylan wants to be a pro surfer! Great to meet you guys this morning and good luck with your dreams to become sporting heroes!

PS. Had a few enquiries about the deal at Namotu Island in Fiji yesterday. There's still a few spots going at a really really good rate. Let me know if your interested or click on the Ad for more info.

The Frothers Gallery is open all day today at 145 C Macpherson St Bronte. It's really called the Bronte top shops. We do gift vouchers for Birthdays, Weddings, Engagements or anything so if your in need of a present call in and say g'day.

Have a great day – Brad 🙂

Update 20th June 2011

Good morning fellow Frothers! I've returned from Fiji and straight back into some waves. By all accounts the weekend produced the goods around town while Fiji was blown out with out of season north devil winds. It's good to be home and I'm super pumped to bring you back the daily Froth reports. This morning I hit up Bondi where the remainder of the SE swell was most evident at a tasty 3ft. There was a crowd out early hitting up the southern corner where there was a good choice of lefts and rights on offer. The wind will remain out of the west today keeping conditions ideal for us, but best get out there sooner rather than later as the swell is expected to back off this arvo before picking up again with a new little pulse on Thursday.

I ran into local lad Liam Geale who works up at Surf Culture this morning and he's headed off to Mexico tomorrow for 5 weeks. Have a safe trip and we hope you score some pits. Very jealous indeed!

News just in. There are a some spots left on Namotu in Fiji for next week 25th June – 2nd July. If your keen to hit up Cloudbreak or Resturants then here is your chance. It's a really good deal too, at a heavily discounted rate! Email us here [email protected] if you want to find out more.

Enjoy the day folks!

PS Frothers Gallery is closed today – Surf day today!
