Update 24th October 2013

I've been keeping you waiting long enough gang. So I am going to keep it real short.

There was a great combo of wind, waves and beautiful light this morning. A photographers dream really. Tama was fun but chunky!

Gee that surf forecast looks good doesn't it!

Enjoy the rest of the day – Brad

Update 22nd October 2013

With the NE wind swell running and after checking Tama and Bronte just to make sure, I headed round to Maroubra to see what was going down. It was certainly worth it. 3 ft of fun and not a whole heap of people out and the south corner was nice and protected from the early semi strong SSW wind. It will swing around later to the NE.

The sun is on its way out and things will heat up again today. 28 today and 32 tomorrow.

Waves are looking good for the rest of the week too! Bonus….

Have a nice one – Brad 😉

Up-date 21st October 2013

It's a hazy day, but beautiful at the same time.

31 degrees on the menu, some playful waves, but a thick layer of smokes.

The late up-date is due to the fact that I landed this morning early from my trip back Miami-L.A-Sydney. 28 hours of travels to land into this worrying fog. I was lucky enough to be sitting on the right side of the plane as we were cruising alongside the Eastern seaboard. And from Central Coast onwards, you could barely see the land. Approaching Sydney, it became worse, way worse. Only when we touched down, we could see the ground, and only then. A few seconds later, whilst still in the plane, this is the smell that gets you, and after 25 hours of AirCo, it is pretty heavy.

I had seen pics over the last days from the fires and the smoke, but this is the kind of thing that you only really believe when you see it with your own eyes.

I can't imagine what those families and the fireys are going through at the moment. Let's hope that the winds will not resume as hard as predicted…

I wish you a good afternoon. Off for a surf: the best medicine against jetlag !

Update 18th October 2013

In between a few rogue sets, there were a couple of diamonds in the rough out at Bondi this morning. There are two swells in the water, the NE and windswell from yesterday and a newby from the South. The result is a few nice looking peaks hitting our beaches, say at about the 4 ft range.

As you can see from todays main shot. Local board shaper Andrew Harris  scored the wave of the day. I can just imagine his big grin when he opens the Froth report. I love the fact that AH can surf well. I think it's a huge factor when spending coin on a new stick. Good show AH – You were killing it on your pink lipstick board this morning!

Expect a weekend of NE wind and swell to match. Temps will be hot which won't help the bush fire situation what so ever. It's going to be a hard weekend for everyone involved out there.

Wish me luck people – I'm heading up to Port Macquarie to do the half ironman triathlon on Sunday! That 21km run at the end is going to be hectic!

Happy weekend! – Brad

Update 17th October 2013

We have had some cold starts in the mornings lately but the heat is definitely back today and the beach front was a bee hive of activity early, running, riding, pumping and jumping. Are there any unfit people left in town? I’m sure there would be a couple, but we are certainly a fitter bunch these days.

The swell has completely changed direction over night and is now coming in from the north east. No more clean west winds either, the heat will keep this NE sea breeze strong all day and hopefully some surf with it.

Be cool, stay cool.
