Update 4th October 2013

Great to see some waves again, right in time for the weekend too! A bit of a disjointed southerly swell pushing in but hey, beggars can’t be chooser’s.

The banks are quite good too. Well, better then they have been anyway, with Bondi having a couple of options along it’s golden stretch, instead of one huge straight hander like it has been the last few weeks.

Swell should drop a bit over the next two days but remain big enough to keep the short board in the line up. Weather looks excellent as well, with the winds swinging back to the NE.

That means a dry track for the NRL Grand Final, which will make for an exciting finish to what’s been a great season of Rugby League.

Go the Roosters! I hate saying that as I’m a South’s supporter, but there is no way I’m going for that other mob.

Have a good one!

Up-date 02nd October 2013

Spring is in full blast again, after a hot windy day yesterday…

Small waves are even back in the bay, at Bondi, and whales came for a stroll. 2.5ft is what you should expect, but it's clean and the South corner looked to be the best option, if you want to avoid the close-outs.

But, it should not be all about the surf. Running or boot-camping is the best in this season. It's not too cold, not too warm, and with the early sunrise, you can even score a relaxing moment with a coffee in hand, after exercising.

Soon, we'll be in the DST mode, which means: after-work surf !

Keep an eye on the Quiky Pro France today, from 4pm our time. It's gonna be epic: 6 to 9 foot at La Graviere, this will put on a great show !

Have a nice day !

Update 1st October 2013

The cloud has returned and the swell has gone, but the predicted cyclonic winds have fortunately not arrived yet. They are on their way though, so batten down the hatches and hold onto your hat. Maybe even take the dog off the chain and stick him under the bed, because it could get a little nasty out there later.

Being a surfing photographer, it’s always nice to have a pro surfer to shoot, except when there are no waves. After checking a non existent Bondi, Perth and I drove to The Bra where it wasn’t quite as non existent, but it was damn close!

I’ve shot some pretty bad sessions in my time and this was definitely up there amongst them. I’m sure if Perth wasn’t frothing so hard on his brand new board, we would’t have been out there today.

Still, you never know until you go and in the words of legendary Parramatta Rugby League coach, Jack Gibson, we ‘Played strong, done good!’

Update 30th September 2013

After a great weekend of waves it is back to normal for the start of the working week. Golden pancakes is all that is on offer this morning. Ok ok so it is not dead flat. In the south corner at Bondi you will find a couple of 2 foot runners rolling in that will get you by for the day.

The sunrise this morning was one of those ones that made you feel alive and a pleasure to be up at the crack of dawn! You should try it sometime!

Enjoy the day – Brad 😉

Update 27th September 2013

I knew it was going to be on early. So just after 5 am I rolled down the hill to Bronte and with a few other early risers I was a little bummed that the south swell hadn't quite arrived. But just as I turned to get back into the car – the first real set of the morning moved through. And didn't it look fantastic. Lining up on the sand bank just right! So on went the wetsuit and the 50mm lens into the housing and I was out there!

The tide has filled in now and it is a little on the lumpy bumpy side. There is plenty out there though and well worth a paddle.

Plenty more waves around for the weekend too. So enjoy!

Cheers – Brad 😉
