Hi Frothers !
I had been hoping for one of those mornings for a while now. A sunrise with colours. It happened today. Not quite the Winter colour crazyness yet, but so pretty nonetheless. And the best thing is: it’s soooo warm.
Waves are a bit peaky, rippy and shifty, but there are certainly some fun ones out there. It’s just a real science to be able to pick the good ones. The Northern end of Bondi was smaller but a bit more consistent.
Another amazing day of this endless Summer…
Have a great day !

Hi Frothers !
22degrees at 6:15am: Autumn is a draggin’ its feet…Not complaining !
After a flat Monday, we’re getting waves again. A touch (way too) wobbly, but enough to still enjoy a surf in boardies, as the day promises to be perfect again.
The ocean is not just a place we enjoy, but it is also a source of protein for most of us. Sustainable sea-food is a real focus point nowadays. This year the MSC (Marine Stewardship Council) is encouraging everyone to roll-up their sleeves and host their own Sustainable Seafood Day feast with (delicious) MSC and ASC certified seafood.
They’d love to celebrate the day with you and here’s how;
- Mark it down in your calendar: cook sustainable sea food on Friday March 11, 2016 (but celebrations will go throughout March).
- Invite friends over to enjoy a sustainable seafood meal and go to www.msc.org/forthesea for your free hosting pack which includes recipes, coasters, eco-shopping bag and a short film.
- Spread the word through social media with #ForTheSea and tag @LoveOceanLoveFood on instagram, @MSCinAustralia on twitter and @MSCinAustralia on Facebook – They have lots of prizes for our favourite posts including a shark dive, family pass to the zoo and sustainable seafood packs.
Have a great day !

Hi Frothers !
This Monday morning was misty-fying. This dramatic Autumn light created such an amazing vibe. Bondi was wrapped in a thick blanket of sea mist.
I took the camera out for a swim. Well, the season shift is starting to operate on the ocean’s warmth. I think I’ll be pulling the wetsuit out of the drawer pretty soon if the water temperature keeps dropping that quickly. Don’t get me wrong: it’s still ok if you surf, but if your body is in the water all the time, you can feel a real difference vs. the last few days.
On another note, I would like to let you know that I will be be a guest speaker at the Beachin’ Talks at the Bondi Pavillon (Seagull Room) this coming Saturday 12th March. The event will be between 3 to 6pm. I will be talking alongside 4 other amazing beach/ocean photographers. After the talks, there will be drinks, DJs and we’ll be available for further discussions if you’re keen to know more about what we do, how we work, what we shoot with, or what are our upcoming projects. It will be great to see you…and who knows, you might be featuring on one of my slides…. More info here !
Have a great day !

Hi Frothers !
Whomever once said that the beach was boring never came to Bondi !
Between the Fluro Friday, the CoastalTrek bringing thousands of people through the coastal walk and promenade, the (tiny) surf, the usual pushbike riders passing by, etc…Bondi is a concentration of lifestyles and morning activities.
Surf-wise, it’s a bit poor today, but I’d say enjoy the water anyways. It’s starting to get a little ”colder”. The change of season will soon show its first signs.
Have a great day & enjoy the sunny weekend ahead if you’re in Sydney !

Hi Frothers !
You gotta love those Autumn mornings. I’m talking about the ones where the light is a little softer, but the conditions are pretty much summery: early heat, warm water, waves and crowds. And the next days are very promising. Yay !
There are a few waves to be had in Bondi but there were a few close-outs to manage as the South East swell is very straight.
This morning, I got that thing with splashes in the morning light. Not sure why ! I love the energy and the level of details captured in the image. Sun and splash make a great combo !
Have a great day !

Hi Frothers !
I headed down to the pool at Bronte to watch the sunrise. Man, I love this place. This is has to be my favourite of all pools in the ‘hood. It busy yet quiet. Lots of people, but no street noise. No hassle. The youngs meet the elderly. The fit meets the fat bellied. This place is a condensed snapshot of the coastal lifestyle.
So, I pretty much decided to focus my energy on this place and surroundings only.
Summer is playing its encore, so I’d suggest you keep spending as much time outside as you can !
Have a great day !
