Drum roll please…. We have a special update for you today featuring one of our casual contributors, Dave Campbell. During the week we bring you a report each day, and the photography duties are shared between Brad, Bill and Franck. But, today, Brad is back at school, Bill is at the fire station and Franck is days away from marrying the girl of his dreams in France. Luckily for us, we also have a talented bunch of casual contributors who help make up the Frothers Team. Today, Dave Campbell, is sharing some of his recent images of our local beaches with you. He's a talented guy and we love the way he captures the beauty of Sydney's East.

The strong winds from overnight have not done much to build up the surf. But, as I walked the prom this morning, I did cop a gobful of sand that the wind whipped off the beach – be careful out there. If you're desperate for a surf, Maroubra may have a small weak wave worth trying.
Try to get out of the wind and enjoy this amazing sunshine. And, if you're in the area pop into our gallery and see some of Dave's work that we have up on display.
Cheers, Christie

Good morning Frothers! I'm writing today's update for Brad as he has headed back to school this week. He's studying up for his Coxswains – but don't get into a conversation with him about it, or he'll start yammering about bilge pump valves and engine smoke signals.
As you can imagine, Brad was running about like a headless chook this morning, trying to snap something to brighten your inboxes, without being late for roll call. Last time he was shooting in a rush he turned his water housing into a fish bowl. Today, the damage wasn't as bad. But he did punch something about 250th into his camera. I know nothing of shutter speeds and f-stops, however I think this mistake, a slow shutter speed, makes for a soft surf shot. If I've lost you, don't worry – I'm a bit lost myself. Just sick back and enjoy the ride.
The beach is picture perfect this morning. If you have the morning off today you're a lucky duck! Grab the longboard and get wet!
Cheers, Christie

I woke early this morning, way before my alarm. Some crazy male cat was howling in the back yard and obviously serenading some feline nearby. The birds and bees and cats! The joys of Spring time!
The waves have shrunk to an uninviting 1-2 feet and unless you are a backpacker or learner, you won’t get too much stoke today. However, in saying that, I’m sure that plenty will and just getting in the ocean is stoke enough. I think I’m still feeling a little spoilt from Fiji last month. I know my toes are, they have been quite numb surfing in this 16 degree water temp here the last few days.
While I’m whining about the cold, here is a little Surfline feature that just came out. It’s shot in a very remote part of the Australian desert, in The Great Southern Ocean. I was lucky enough to visit this area earlier this year and I’m in awe of it’s beauty. Click HERE for a peek a boo.

Spring has sprung, the grass has riz, I wonder where the surfers is? They're all out Bondi dropping in on each other on that totally rippable left hander in the corner.
It has been pretty crazy in the lineup at Australia's most famous (and crowded) beach but the waves have been smoking over the weekend and if you were lucky enough to get one amongst the rabble, I'm sure you would have been stoked.
It has been a pretty dismal for last two weeks as far as surf goes and to get some waves for the Father's Day weekend was definitely a bonus.
It's dropped a little today but it's still fun and no matter how bad the crowd is, having waves is always better than it being flat.
Big congrats to Bondi's Perth Standlick who placed 2nd in the WQS 6 star San Miguel Pro in Spain over the weekend. Great result Perth!
Have a great day!

Here I am from Down-Under to Up-Above !
Paris: for some it's romantic, fashion, and incredibly pretty ladies. For others, it's pollution, traffic, and parisian arrogance. But let's face it, in Summer Paris is cool: the City is ''empty'' (…it's all relative) as people are on holidays, days are long and nights are warm. Nothing like a glass of wine at a terrace, a walk down alongside the Seine River or a ride with a Velib', those push bikes that anyone can use everywhere in the City.
However, you look at it, Paris doesn't let anyone indifferent. The ''love or hate'' kind of thing…
For me, Paris was the opportunity to go and shoot with Francois Becot, one of my dearest and oldest friends. So today, the shots are mainly his: it's ''Frothers feat. Francois Becot''. For the curious, check out some of his work. I hope you'll enjoy the shots.
Looks like it may be a bit windy for you back in Sydney. The sun should be shining for you though! Maybe a few waves too!
For my next up-date, I'll have changed my profile from ''single'' to ''married'' ! 😉
PS – The gallery will be closed today. Christie and Brad have a wedding to go to in the Hunter Valley!
French Franck!
