Update 14th June 2011

Hello strangers, it's been a while between drinks! Let's put that down to an industrious 8 weeks of laying bricks, painting walls and installing flooring. However, we now have lift off! Christie, Bill and I have opened the doors to our long awaited shop space and we would like to welcome you to our Frothers Gallery. While Bill Morris has been a long time contributor to Frothers, we would like to officially welcome him to our team-The Frothing Trio! Bill has been shooting surfing superstars and ocean inspired art for over 30 years and is a master of the trade. He brings a swag of quality images to the Frothers Gallery, which add depth to our ever growing archive. The Frothers Gallery is not all about blowing our own trumpet, as we boast a strong team of contributing photographers from the East and abroad. When you glance at our walls you will see reasonably priced ocean inspired photography by Dave Campbell, Jeremy Wilmotte, Mark Halliday and Sean Davey to name a few.

While I would love to give each of you a tour of our new gallery, I am currently in Fiji shooting on the beautiful Namotu Island for a few weeks. Let me tell you that if your sick of the traffic and crowds in Bali this time of year then maybe you should book yourself a trip to Fiji and start surfing the famous breaks like Cloudbreak and Resturants. It's mental over here! Namotu Island Resort

Bill is also heading abroad to the Ments. However, Christie will be waiting at 145c MacPherson Street, Bronte to welcome you to our latest adventure! Also, stay tuned for some tropical solace from the cold Sydney days. Cheers, Brad.

PS Gallery closed Mondays – Open for the rest!

Update 27th May 2011

As you all know we've been working our buts off of late on our gallery space at Bronte. Many late nights and sore backs, but finally we are opening our doors next Saturday morning. To celebrate we will be having a little get together on Friday night 3rd June from 6pm. If your in the area and feel like dropping in for a beer or two and a bite to eat please feel free to pop in and say G'day. We will have a great display of images ready in all shapes and sizes and something to suit all budgets. These are high quality prints from Bill Morris and myself as well as some amazing work from Sean Davey, David Campbell and Jeremy Wilmotte as shown. These prints and many more will be available.

So if you can drop in next Friday night for a sticky peek from 6pm at 145C Macpherson St Bronte. We'd love to see you. Thanks for all the support from each and every one of our Frothers members.

Cheers Brad

Update 19th May 2011

What a week it's been! Knee deep in bricks & concrete, building walls and tables, painting ceilings and choosing our best images to print and hang at our brand new venture in Macpherson street, Bronte – Frothers Gallery. It's been hard working away with all the distractions of what's going on up here. Iggy's bread is baking next door and soon to open and well the Bacon and Egg rolls from the boys at Three Blue Ducks cafe are amazing. But hey what about the waves lately! There is nothing like a beautiful late Autumn swell with clean off shore winds to get us all frothing and back to the ocean. Both Brad and i had to down the tools and pick the lens up which had gathered a fair bit of dust mind you and capture what went down at Bronte, K Bay and also Ours. We have to say that the standout performer in this update was Lifeguard Dunstan Foss. That barrel of his out at Bronte as shown was impressive and has gained many a comment on our Facebook page – So well done Dunno keep on ripping! This has been our first update for quite a while and we apologise for that. Hopefully these pics will have been worth the wait. We will soon be doing our Daily reports again. Myself, Brad and Nick Sheffield will be covering the morning sessions 5 days a week so keep an eye out for us!

PS for no real reason at our mates over at Carve Sunglasses have decided to give a pair of sunnies away to the first 5 responses to this question. " What gets your Froth on'' ? Can be anything! So get emailing

Cheers Bill, Brad & Christie

Update 29th March 2011

Tama was cranking last week and while we were all frothing over it, so was 10x World Champ Kelly Slater and sparring partner Taj Burow. The pros also hit up Ours and by all reports they were charging like mad! Bill Morris snapped some shots of Ours on fire, there is a funny shot of Richie Vas who was sporting the latest accessory trend with a cast on his dislocated elbow, and Mark Matthews showed us why he is a leader in big wave surfing.
As most of you have probably seen in the headlines, there was a serious rescue at Bronte during the week – see the story featured. A massive effort by all involved especially Richard Freeman and Mouse from the Lifeguards. A guy down the South Coast wasn't as lucky, a surfer who went for a quick dip in the heavy swell and who has served as a reminder to be always alert. If the swell is big and you are not a strong swimmer or you're having an off day – enjoy the action from the sand.
We will have some waves around all week, Wednesday could be good ahead of a fresh South swell on Thursday. Enjoy, stay safe!

Update 21st March 2011

Did you have a case of Boost Surf Sho hangover last week? I did. Last weekend sure took it out of me. I have missed the show the pro's put on while visiting Bondi. Photographically you can't go wrong either, popping airs left right and centre always makes for an interesting frame – a bit like out of a surf mag. It's a shame our Perth Standlick missed his heat in the open trials. I wonder how he would have gone? He made up for it big time early last week landing a massive air, bigger than i saw any of the pro's do. You know the one Perth! Unfortunately there is no photo evidence as i was shacked up in the lifeguard tower in the blue uniform.

A local couple have had a great idea of how to raise money for the Japan disaster. It's called 1000 cranes for Japan. You can buy one for $5 next Sunday at the Bondi markets.

Enough waffle. Expect waves for the best part of the week. Thursday and Friday are looking ok with light westerly winds so get your Froth on and keep an eye out for our photographers in and out of the water. Cheers Brad
