Hi Frothers !
Its been a mixed bag on the Coffs Coast this January. Mainly small waves and northerly winds with a few good east swells here and there to keep the locals busy.
I’ve been enjoying the warm weather , doing some surfing and clocking some photography time capturing some surreal sunrises, my usual wave portraits and some surf action.
We’re almost there. Australia Day long weekend is ’round the corner, so enjoy it guys!
Cheers ,
Martin

Hi Frothers!
It doesn’t look like so, but I’ve been pretty busy here, so I haven’t been able to capture much surfing yesterday and today. I just managed to go for a quick walk at the lighthouse. I’ve been there many times, but I still find this place amazing. The lighthouse itself, but the cliffs, the panoramic scenery, and the helicopter view on Tallow Beach.
I hope you guys are getting ready to hit the road for Australia Day long weekend. Wherever you go, have fun, be safe, and I hope you’ll get a few waves too.
Tomorrow, Martin will be taking over.
Have a great day!

Hi Frothers!
Telling you that the surf is photogenic here in Tallow’s would be un understatement. This place is a delight to shoot at sunset.
Fun 2-3 fters, few people, loads of stingy jellyfish, and a big dose of sun and colours made the evening combo.
The weather is shifting a bit now, but with that change should come some slightly bigger swell. Fingers crossed.
Have fun!

Hi Frothers!
One thing I surely love about Byron is its light at sunset. I love to be able to shoot until really late and see the sun get over the horizon. This is something that sounds basic, but it’s not unfortunately not on offer in the Eastern Suburbs. The result is that the gold contrasts with the black of the silhouettes, a photographer’s dream.
Today is a taste of my sunset photographer’s thrill. I started outside of the water with a long lens, got in the water with the camera, and could not reason myself to get in, just like everyone else around. Stoke, smiles, and good vibes.
Have a good day!

Hi Frothers!
For the next few days, I’ll be broadcasting live from magical Byron Bay, to bring you some sun in a grey day, if you’re in Sydney right now. 32 degrees, amazing water clarity, some (small) waves and A LOT of people to surf with/around/through/over: Byron Bay knows how to throw a good Summer!
The Pass has been that busy in the last couple of days, It almost felt like being in Bondi!
Waves are becoming smaller and smaller now, but we should see an increase in the next few days. If the winds stay with us and don’t mess around too much, we could have some pretty decent conditions to report. Stay tuned! It could be a great place to spend Australia Day: click on the banner below, and hit us on [email protected] if you’re interested and want -10% off your rental.
Have a good day!
