I guess we had to wait until autumn to get a little summer going. The last few days have been amazing with blazing sunshine, light winds and warm water. That nasty, midday, solar bite is also waning, making a lunch time swim and bake a lot less invasive but a little slip, slop, slap is definitely still required.

The waves are tiny again and I’m calling longboard conditions at best today. A bit of training, like a swim of the bay, is probably more the call. Hopefully the sun hangs around for a while to make it nice. A big southerly buster is due right on time for the weekend. It will definitely get a little cooler but the waves will pick up for Sunday and next week is looking quite good, on the long range forecast at this stage anyway.

Take a look at this late ENTRY that just came in for the Billabong XXL Big Wave Awards. Trust a crazy Englishman to fade on a wave like this. With water temperature of about 8-9 degrees and a very thick, rubber robot suit on, you can’t even imagine surviving something like this. Complete nutter!

Have fun!
