Sometimes paradise doesn’t quite live up to it’s name.

I’ve been lucky enough to score a job at the beautiful Namotu Island Resort for 3 weeks, shooting the guests. I didn’t come for the money of coarse, I came to surf my brains out at some of the best breaks on the planet, namely Cloudbreak Reef.

I was fortunate to step straight into a couple of fun 4 foot days of surf but it has since deteriorated to a very small 1 to 2 feet of dribble. Unfortunately we have also had some of the worst weather the island has experienced since the cyclone in March, with strong winds and rain.

It can’t be perfect all the time and it won’t be long until paradise returns. Tomorrow even looks to be that day, so hopefully my next report will show some of the true Fiji magic this place can produce.

On the home front, it looks like more south ground swell coming for the Eastern Beaches this weekend with strong, cold south winds.

Keep your hoody handy guys.
