Yesterday we traveled inland and visited an ancient city, on the south western coast of Turkey near a town called Dalyan. The ancient city, Caunos, was positioned conveniently on a river bank some 2000 years BC. Caunos's ruins have only recently been excavated of silt build-up to reveal more of this ancient beauty. Along with the ancient structures & Roman baths, Lycian rock tombs that are carved into nearby cliff faces make this a must-see on any itinerary. For me it was cultural overload and my day's adventure resulted in a sore trigger finger from taking so many snaps.

While there is no surf to report on here, I've put a few photos of my Turkish escape together for you today. Back home there looks to be a big swell from the south that will be around all weekend accompanied with strong S-SW winds. The BOM has forecast dangerous surf conditions, so put that rock-fishing trip on hold.

Enjoy the weekend. I'll bring you more from Turkey next week, Bill from Fiji and Franck is keeping his eye on Sydney. Cheers, Brad.

PS The gallery is open all weekend!
