Life is a mix of priorities and dreams. Personally, for me anyway, it’s a battle between attaining the means to support a comfortable existence for my family, while at the same time trying to enjoy what you could term, ‘my own selfish dream’. Which of course, is surfing.

Doing a 3 week stint at the beautiful Namotu Island Resort in Fiji, shooting the guests and surfing breaks like Cloudbreak Reef, is about as close as you can get to achieving THE dream, while at the same time also maintaining the other priority.

But honestly, it was never about the money. As soon as the email came through for this wonderful opportunity to work over here in paradise for a while, there was only one word, only one selfish thought that ever entered my mind… Cloudbreak!

After a week of ordinary weather by Fiji standards, things have finally turned around. The last few days have been what dreams are made of; sunny, off shore and 4 – 8 feet of solid ground swell and there is more on the way, thanks to the terrible weather all you folks in Sydney have unfortunately been putting up with the last few days. All that huge south swell is now marching straight up the pacific and into our lap. What some have to endure for others to prosper, or so you could say.

I hope it pumps at home on the down turn for everyone to enjoy as well.

Cheers.
