After that strong nor’ east wind yesterday there were plenty of calls last night, including the internet, that the surf would be pumping this morning. Wrong! Even Maroubra was a disappointing and disjointed 2-3 feet but still easily the pick of the beaches and worthy of a paddle.

Ok, in pro surfing news; Taj Burrow just beat Matt Wilkinson this morning in an all Aussie final at the O’Neill Cold Water Classic at Steamer Lane in Santa Cruz, Northern California.

The world title race will be decided in Hawaii at the last event of the year, The Pipeline Masters. It looks to be a two horse race between Kelly Slater, who made up some ground on Joel Parkinson, with Mick Fanning still an outside bet too. Should be an exciting finish if Pipe pumps!
