Up-date 9th November 2012

It started off pretty gloomy I must say: dark, sad, very moody clouds. Zero. Bad.

But then colors broke through, giving the sky some royal colors: gold, red, and even some blue.

What's gonna be Charly's program in Bondi today you reckon ?!…A swim ?…nah…only Tony Abbott can get away with the Speedo ! A little paddle in the small surf, since the water surface is now nice and smooth ? Or is he gonna go for a Chai Latte by the beach, listenning to his iPod ? Maybe a quick brunch at Chapter 1 ? He could maybe wait until there is a bit less water and see the surf in Bronte: the lefts will be nice and long…

…or maybe he's gonna come to the Frothers' Gallery in Bronte to buy some Christmas gifts. I am sure some of those amazing shots from Bill, Brad or Dave would go really well with the Buckingham Palace interior design.

Almost beer o'clock !

Cheers to HRH,

Franck

Up-date 8th November 2012

We’re all a bunch of sunflowers.

No sun: we sleep in, we desert the beach, we look down when we walk. A bit of sun, and we’re all up before dawn, running, kettle-belling, planking, walking, surfing, you-name-it-ing…getting our fix of sun for the day. Everyone seem to keep his/her head high to make sure we get the most evenly distributed coating from the big ball of fire ! Just like sunflowers…

Surfwise, don't get your hopes too high for today, but it should change soon. Bondi was busy, with a few dribbles. Bronte has some lefts, nothing to get too excited about though: just enough to get a few and go to work.

In the US, Sandy has hit hard the East Coast, as everyone knows. Well, some managed to have fun with her. See here those amazing waves created by this exceptional tropical storm!

This month is Movember. A great event, for a cause worth fighting for. If you don’t know anyone who’s doing it, and are looking to donate, then try Simon. He’s been extremely active and has set-up a team to which you can donate via this link. It’s really irrelevant who you donate through, and it's tax deductible. Be generous !

Have fun today !

Update 7trh November 2012

It’s a misty, grey and dreary day out there and for the first time in a while, Bondi seemed relatively quite at 6 am.

If the sun's not shining, I’m sure a lot of people flag their exercise regime in exchange for an extra hour’s sleep. Compared to a nice day, the difference in numbers is like chalk and cheese.

After that strong nor’ east wind yesterday there were plenty of calls last night, including the internet, that the surf would be pumping this morning. Wrong! Even Maroubra was a disappointing and disjointed 2-3 feet but still easily the pick of the beaches and worthy of a paddle.

Ok, in pro surfing news; Taj Burrow just beat Matt Wilkinson this morning in an all Aussie final at the O’Neill Cold Water Classic at Steamer Lane in Santa Cruz, Northern California.

The world title race will be decided in Hawaii at the last event of the year, The Pipeline Masters. It looks to be a two horse race between Kelly Slater, who made up some ground on Joel Parkinson, with Mick Fanning still an outside bet too. Should be an exciting finish if Pipe pumps!

Update 6th November 2012

I fluffed about at Tamarama this morning in hope that the NE windswell would serve up some fun little peelers, but before too long I knew Maroubra would be the place for a wave or two.

The rights at the Bra have just enough punch behind them to really get movin! Jump on the right one and you could really let fly, maybe even bust some fins. It's only chest high but fun!

Now we all know xmas is coming up real quick and If your looking for some cool presents this year for no more than $50 then why not come in to our gallery at 145c Macpherson St Bronte and have a look at our 12" x 8" print and frame combo's. Now there's a deal! You could deck out the whole family in one go! Open Wed – Sunday from 10am5pm

Best of luck in the big race today. Hope you pick a winner – Not a booger

Cheers – Brad Malyon

Update 5th November 2012

Good morning! And that’s more of a statement than hello but a mix of both all the same.

Yes, it’s nice out there, too good to be heading to the office that’s for sure but you’ve got to do what you’ve got to do. I threw the flippers on early and had a little swim and even though the wave action wasn’t that exciting, the chilly bite which the ocean still has makes you feel alive once you’ve taken that first plunge.

You know summer has arrived when the cricket kicks off. Sath Efrica are looking good in warm ups compared to our dismal effort. I would imagine that Bondi’s supporter base would be pretty evenly split for this series, so go the Aussies!!!

Good luck to everyone in the Melbourne Cup tomorrow also, I hope your gee gee’s comes home strong.
