Update 23rd January 2013

That storm that rocked into Sydney looked kind of serious yesterday. If you didn't see it then your in luck. I was able to skip off and rattle off a few frames at Clovelly as it passed by.

So that was the start of the change yesterday. The wind puffed up from the south over night making the beaches look a little less than appealing this morning. On the upside it has pushed a little 2 ft wind swell into Bondi. There are a couple of rip bowls that are surfable. Seek and you may find. I reckon it's better than it looks today.

The cool cats  from the www.thepathchosen.com have been nice enough to do a feature on me and what we do at Frothers every morning. I feel very privileged to have been asked to take part in their great project. Check out the VIDEO

Update 22nd January 2013

I'm sure your already aware of it, but it's a little blue beauty out there today. Blue skies and light north winds making for a magnificent start to the day.

One look at the beach on my drive around and I knew I just had to make the most of the beautiful conditions. So I hit the water at Tamarama with the camera where there was a fun little right hander rolling in. It's 2 ft – nothing special. But what is amazing is the water temp. Then big toe is saying 23 degrees. Now that's worth a paddle or swim. Might see you down there!

Update 21st January 2013

Summer in the city has taken on a gloomier look since our record temperature day last week. I guess if you’re working it may be a good thing. I mean, who wants to work when it’s sunny outside. Better to do it on the crappy days instead. I guess the only other time it’s good  being cooped up in an office breathing fake air is when the temperature is 40 plus, right? Even then it’s still nicer floating in the ocean somewhere.

There are a few little waves still hanging around. It’s a bit small for a regular board unless you are a lightweight grom who rips! Otherwise, it’s better on something wide or long, or both!

Enjoy!

Update 18th January 2013

You can feel the body slowing down, kicking back into cruise mode. It isn’t just old age creeping over me either, even if I do need an afternoon nanna nap sometimes. Just not having to deal with traffic jams or even a simple traffic light is such a plus. Country living, it’s a beautiful thang!

It’s all come to an end too soon unfortunately because it’s time to pack the bag, have one last dip in the warm, blue pacific with the fam, then fill the tank and do some highway surf’n south. That’s about the only type of decent surfing there is to do right now, the summer surfer blues have returned once again.

I should get one last shot for a wave at Forster, because with any luck last nights howling Nor’easter will have whipped up something to ride in one of the many nooks and crannies protected from the wind. If not, it doesn’t matter too much. It was just great to get away.

Cheers

Billy

Update 17th January 2012

It's for loggers only out there. The waves are pushing into Bondi at knee height and if you ain't got a long piece of kit under your feet you won't be surfing today. On the upside the water is fantastic at a very reasonable 22 degrees, meaning there is no need for any rubber. Now that's a good enough reason to dust off the old trusty and get out there.

There is yet another hot day forecast for tomorrow. They're saying the mercury will hit 38 degrees – so best be prepared. Start thinking of a good excuse to skip the office now or kick the day off with a morning dip. Make the most of it because a southerly buster will turn up late in the evening which will bring some funky weather for the weekend. It should produce some waves for next week though. Monday is looking the goods!

"Paul Fitzy's" memorial service at Tamarama park will kick off at 10.30am tomorrow. Everyone is asked to wear something colorful to help celebrate the way he lived his life. All that knew him are welcome to attend!

Happy Thursday – Brad
