Update 20th March 2013

Summer is back. And because I want to enjoy it more, I decided to slow things down a bit…

I just don't want it to stop, so I'm think 1/15 to 1/30sec  would do the trick, and make it feel like it's there for longer.

Today is one of those days: fun, clean, windless, with small 1-2ft (…sometimes 3) waves, playful, and exceptionally warm in/out of the water.

So get out there ! The wind is not too far behind.

Have a nice day !

Update 19th March 2013

It's a late one I know…Sorry about that! This morning turned into a bit of a busy one. A midwifes appointment and my little nephews swimming lesson were the priority this morning.

I hit Bondi early and there were plenty of waves in the 2 – 3 range from the SE but most waves were closing out or shutting down on the new straight sand banks. So, dissatisfied I thought I'd hit up Bronte after my morning duties. I hooked up with my good pals Dunstan and Bree and we shot a few frames on the reef and in the bogey hole. The water is amazing at the moment. Mad if you don't get in this arvo

So it's back to smallish conditions out there for a few more days folks. Looks like some nice weather ahead though.

Have a great day… Brad

Update 18th March 2013

There was definitely a chill in the air early this morning and you can tell the seasons are changing. It had me sneaking back in the house to grab a hoodie and I hate having to sneak back in after leaving because the front door squeaks which often wakes someone up.

The wind has backed off to a moderately strong SW and the swell is still solid. It took a while for any surfers to show up but by 7:30am there were 4 or 5 guys out with a couple of them having a go on the challenging, outside right hander at Bronte.

Winds will slowly abate over the next few days, along with the swell so it will be much more manageable for most surfers.

Ever dreamed of grabbing a Winnebago and hitting the highway in search of the perfect wave? You better check THIS out.

Have a great week!

Up-date 15th March 2013

Today is 50/50.

50/50 that you’ll get wet outside. 50/50 that you’ll be getting a long ride in the middle of this windy junky swell (I’d even say 20/80). 50 enjoying the warm water for a swim (like Amaury), 50 spewing about the winter like ‘’colours’’.

Today’s weather is bad enough to ruin all chances of surfing, but not bad enough to make it really spectacular and charming.

I was 50/50 between going down the beach or staying at home and going through the archives of blue, clear, and warm water shots. But, hey…our commitment to you is to bring you fresh images, rain, hail or shine.

The weekend also looks like 50/50: 50 good (Saturday: light winds, NE swell and sun), 50 bad (Sunday: strong southerly, clouds, rain). Personally, that’s a 100 for me: surf on Saturday, kitesurf on Sunday ! Yew !

When the weather is good: have a walk in the sun and as you pass by, come and see us at the Gallery in Bronte. If the weather is bad, go have a coffee at the ‘’Three Blue Ducks’’ in Bronte…and come take shelter in the Gallery. 142 McPherson Street (named after the model).

H v a g o d y !….(sh*# ! my keyboard only writes 50% of what I type)

Update 14th March 2013

Well what a difference a day makes! That amazing weather I never shut up about has deserted us this morning,  a fresh little southerly change has moved through the city over night, bringing cloud and also messing up our nice surf conditions. The water temp has dropped about 4 degrees as well due to the nor’easter we had the last few days, up welling the colder water from the deep.

Kelly Slater won his 52nd world tour event, The Quiksilver Pro, in pumping Kirra Barrels yesterday. There have been rumours going around for a while that Kelly is really an alien from outer space. At 41 years old and with more records than any other sportsman on this planet, it may be so. He also took out highest heat score and equal highest wave score of 10 even though it was probably an 11. For me, it wasn’t that tube he nailed Parko with, but the turn he did when he came out. Not human!

Kelly getting beat last year was the best thing that could have happened for surfing. Firstly because Joel won a title and secondly it meant Slater wasn’t going to walk away a loser and as of yesterday confirmed he is committed to this year’s title race. It wouldn’t be the same with out him.
