Update 9th August 2013

It’s definitely been back to winter the last 2 days. I really wished I worn some gloves this morning as the bitter westerly felt like it was tearing the skin from my hands at first light.

Good news for surfers, the swell is back! There were two guys out middle Bondi as the dawn made it light enough to see what you were doing. That was definitely the best window, with some nice hollow lefts pushing through before the tide filled in and the swell started to drop. There are still some clean waves around though and well worth a paddle.

Looks like a sunny and warmer weekend coming up and the swell looks to be hanging in there as well.

Happy Days!

Update 8th August 2013

Dull is the only word I can find to describe the weather today. Only because there wasn't much going on anywhere. No waves, no people – just a few die hard's that are out doing what they do every day of the week, with an umbrella or wet weather gear of course.

Waves should jack up through the day. They're saying 4ft from the South direction – and if the wind stays like it is, which is very light from the west then we could be in for some fun waves this arvo. Keep that in mind while your at work!

Have a good one – Brad 😉

Up-date 07th August 2013

After a quick rain episode whilst we were all asleep, we’re in blue-mode again.

Waves ? Nah….not really. Later today, maybe. Tomorrow, I doubt it: strong Southerly on the menu. Friday, more likely. Training for the City2Surf is probably the best investment of your time this morning.

So I decided to focus on the Bondimobiles today, big and small. Engine powered and human powered. Two wheels and four. There are a few of those crazy-vintage-querky-iconic-soulful jewels around our small part of town. Those cars seem to be attracted by the Ocean too, braving the rust and the slowly damaging corrosion.

Problems with the cars: they would never buy a selfie…

Have a nice day !

Update 6th August 2013

It’s that time of year again. The streets are full of pounding feet as the runners amongst us try and find some last minute fitness in the dying days before the ‘City to Surf’ this Sunday.

Trucks were arriving before day break in Bondi, once again turning our beach front sands into some kind of tent city on steroids. Maybe steroids is a little harsh a word to use. I don’t even know if they drug test the winners for this huge event but I’m sure in this day and age, they would. All I really know is that if you plan on coming to Bondi next Sunday, you’d better leave the car at home.

As for surf news, there is none. It’s about as small as it gets today. If we are lucky, we may have a few more waves coming our way on the weekend. Until then, pound the pavement, hit the gym or pool if you need that exercise fix and just enjoy this magic winter weather we have been blessed with.

Update 5th August 2013

You can't ask for a better start to the working week today. The weather is amazing yet again. Although it was a little fresh getting changed into the wet wettie, all was forgotten once I hit the water. Not sure what the water temp is but it has to be around the 18 degree mark. Not bad when the outside temp is cooler than that.

So you have 2ft of left over East swell rolling in. What a great weekend of waves by the way! Bondi's sand banks are not the best and it was hard to find "the spot" this morning. I came up a few short images short so I've included a couple of nice ones from yesterdays sunrise.

There is a new little south swell due in on Wednesday…..

Have a cracker – Brad 😉
