I didn't want to leave the beach this morning…

Everyone was out. There were nice and fun littl waves (2ft). It was warm, the sky was blue, people were in a good mood, the light was warm and fun to shoot…in a nutshell: this morning was a cracker. Ticking almost all the boxes.

So I hope you guys can catch a couple today. It's worth the effort of leaving work early, just for the sake of getting wet and enjoying an indian summer day.

Bonne journée.

What a unique sunrise today. Between the stormy clouds, the rain, the big round sun, the red hues…it's been pretty weird but quite pretty too.

Waves are on the improve, big time. The South corner was firing as the rain forced me to surrender. It actually smoothed things out, and the 3 ft peelers were looking pretty fast and fun. The lefts were short, but you could occasionally score one there.

Between the South corner, and the center of the beach, it's close-out central. I wouldn't bother to be honest. And then, the bank in front of the Tower could give you the chance for a cool little ride on a right, from time to time. The lefts were very unpredictable.

Not sure if you guys followed what happened yesterday a little further North, where la creme de la creme of surfing is back to the office, but John John got booted in round 2 ! That's a big news. He might regret this one at the end of the season, just like Kelly knew that his poor performance in Europe cost him last year's title. Jordy is also out: who would have said ?…

Have a great day.

The question is: why ? Why is the Sun shining on Monday morning after such an awful weekend ??

But because we can't always have it all, even if the sun is out, the waves are pretty poor on this Monday morning. Wind mush. Knee high.

Your odds to have fun this morning are probably better if you decide to go fishing, swimming, or meet your mates for a coffee in the sun.

The beach was relatively quiet this morning, in and out of the water. The late sunrises are now making it difficult for most to be able to squeeze a surf or a jog in before work. (and it doesn't allow me very long to shoot either: 45min at most). April 6th, and you'll be good to go again, with the DST switching to OFF-mode, and I'll be able to get back in the water with the camera too !

Have a great Monday.

PS: and if you get bored today: watch the quicky pro !

The Low Down

The Summer swell conditions have been replaced by what looks like a typical Winter swell.

This Westerly breeze make you have tears in your eyes, when you get the wettie on, or if you run too fast. The concrete is freezing, and the sand will numb your toes by the time you reach the water.

Once in the water, you’ll have to dodge the close-outs. 3 to 5 foot does not work the best in Bondi in those conditions. If you’re lucky or experienced, then you can pick the 1 bomb every 10 waves. Otherwise, it’s tumbler-time !

We’ll see how it evolves with the higher tide. It might clean up a notch. Worth having a look late morning.

On a different note, there is a lot happening in the background for Frothers ! Stay tuned…

Have a great day !
