Warm golden hues in the middle of Winter, bringing us some gold nuggets: Sun, offshore wind and waves…
I could finally get the camera out of the bag without risking is to get soaked, and what a pleasure to see the sun again.
The colours can be a bit deceiving as there was only 1 digit on the dial at 6:30am. But in a day of swell and sun, temperature gets down to the bottom of the list, when it comes to concerns.
Bronte, Tama, and Bondi had plenty of waves. It's relatively clean. Plenty to go about for the day anyway. And tomorrow ? Well, it should be a pretty good one too, probably the highlight of the week. So if you have to wake up early and go for a paddle, tomorrow could be the day. Keep an eye on the up-dated forecast tonight.
Have a great day !

Well I must say it has been a while since my last update. 6 months in fact. And you may have heard through the grapevine that myself and the family have moved 2.5hrs north to the industrial city of Newcastle, where I have taken a fantastic job on the harbor working on the tugboats.
As you can see I have still been shooting a little here and there and I have quickly discovered how good the waves are up here….. Shoosh don't tell too many people about that one. At first we were a little worried about leaving the bubble of the eastern suburbs but the novelty of feeling like we are on holidays still hasn't worn off. So that is obviously a good sign!
I'll be doing the odd Frothers report for Franck every now and then but if your keen to see more of my photography from north at Newcastle just simply follow me on Instagram – @bradmalyon.
Until next time – Brad

Pick your spot. Today you have the choice. Bondi, Tama, Maroubra. Every place has…something.
It's not big, but the constant offshore light winds that we've been having lately, and which make us feel we're definitely out of Summer, have groomed the water. It's clean as. Bondi was even barrelling. The South end bank was showing some potential again ! Keep an eye on it !
There was a couple of visitors this morning, just inside the Bondi bay. No breaching, no tail slapping, just cruising…
Yesterday, Joe Labro got his movie tickets for tonight. Congrats to you mate !
We have another couple of passes for tonight screening of ''The Last Paradise'' in Randwick at the Ritz theater. To win these 2 free tix, the question is simple: who out of all the Frothers photographers has got the highest number of followers on instagram ? The first one to send us an email with the right answer at [email protected] will get those tix.
And while you're at it, give them all a follow !
Good luck !

Blue ! All blue today ! Offshore breeze. A perfect winter day is starting.
If I could say one thing, one little thing: I wish I had more time to shoot. I blame the late sunrise and the busy schedule.
Tamara/Bronte are the pick surf wise. Nice, clean and fun. 3ft mark.
Now, we have some exciting news: 1 have 2 free pass for the screening of the movie Last Paradise, showing tomorrow Wednesday June 4 at 6.30pm – The Ritz Cinema, Randwick.
Last Paradise stars the late Al Byrne, George Greenough, Miki Dora and Peter McCabe in a 45 year quest for adrenaline and uncrowded waves. Alby Falzon and Dick Hoole have both given the film rave reviews and the response from crowds in WA was epic! Have a look at the trailer!
Those free passes will be given to the first person ordering today from the Frothers Gallery. Be quick !
Have a great day !

Gloomy, dark and uninviting. That's for the weather. Happy, colourful and fun. That's for the vibe !
The One Wave crew is getting bigger, stronger, and ever happier ! And today, after gathering in the dark at 6:30am, they made a warm welcome to a returning member: Chris.
Chris is disabled and deciced again to leave the wheelchair on the beach. Supported by the One Wave team, he went for a couple of waves. I struggled to determine who was the happiest: Chris or the Fluro guys ? Hard to say. But both were on a high.
Why did Chris come this morning ? Well that's easy: he came last week for the first time and loved it. So, when he was asked yesterday whether he wanted to go for a swim or for a surf, he said right away: ''For a surf !!''.
See: one wave is all it takes !
Have a happy Friday !
