Update 5th March 2012

I hit the water three times yesterday and I am now officially surfed out. And judging by what I saw this morning so are the rest of you. It was mellow out there with only a handful of people taking advantage of the calm conditions and the fun  2 – 3 ft swell from the ENE. It would have been a great start to the week if you were one of the ones in the water. The wind is meant to freshen up a bit from the SW/SE so I'd get out there sooner rather than later! There are waves at all the beaches today. Might want to take a little bit of rubber with you. I was a bit cold in boardies yesterday but I am a bit of a puss! Please note – The sun is actually out again today!

What about that final at the Quicky Pro… Could this be Taj's year? I hope so. I wouldn't mind Stephanie Gilmore claiming the world title again either.

Here is the Top 10 Leaderboard of the Frothers Fantasy Surfer after the Quicky Pro…. You can still join up HERE

Update 2nd March 2012

I wish I had shares in an umbrella or a windscreen wiper company right now. The whole state is virtually under water and our own dam is about to spill over at any moment after being almost empty a few years ago. Meanwhile, the desalination plant we so desperately needed and had have for the cost of a mere few billion is still chugging away, pumping out freshly converted drinking water from our salty pacific. PLEASE! TURN THE THING OFF!!! NOW!!!

There is not too much to report this morning. Its howling southerly, the surf is crap and if you’re a bit slow and haven’t picked up on what I’ve been talking about… It’s raining! We are getting so used to it, I wouldn’t blame you if you haven’t really noticed. Anyway, if you want to know more about why, it’s all about a thing called El Nina and if you don’t really know much about it, I have found this LINK so you can brush up on it.

For any ‘Gidget’s’ out there the Bondi Girl Surfriders are kicking off their 2012 season at Bondi this Saturday. All ages and abilities are welcomed with open arms, the only prerequisite is that you are a local LADY! Meeting 7:30am in the carpark near the skate bowl – you won't miss the girl's gang. Hope you all have sloshingly good weekend!

Update 1st March 2012

It was a kind of weird start to the day folks. The cloud cover was still lingering threatening our Thursday morning but just as I pulled out the big gun lens the clouds parted, giving me a little bit of inspiration to shoot some of todays surfing action! Yes people we have some fun waves on our hands today.

All the regulars were out in force. In particular Claudia and Julia were ripping it up big time and have improved out of site with frequent trips to better waves. It's hitting 3ft at south facing Bondi and the conditions are pretty good with light NW winds.

I like these silly videos…. WATCH

Oh yes, Pinch and a punch for the first day of the month!

Cheers – Brad

Update 29th February 2012

Summer has come up one day short. What a dismal, average looking day we have on our hands and to make it worse there is barely anything wave wise to waffle on about. Crack on with work or swim some laps in the pool like Will (today's mugshot). It's miserable!

Obviously it's hard nailing interesting images on days like this. Luckily though I had a couple up my sleeve from yesterdays sunrise at Maroubra. It was one of the best sunrises I've seen in a while and spectacular to say the least. Makes you sort of feel stoked to be up and amongst it all. To top it off I had a team surf with four of my best mates before heading off to work. Who won the heat boys?

The Quicksilver Pro is on hold today. Watch this instead! Very funny…..

All the best with staying dry! – Brad;)

Update 28th February 2012

If you’re not sleeping well in this humidity, join the club. It was a sticky one last night. I am day dreaming about some air-con right now as the sun heats up my office wall like an oven. Thank heavens for the fan I have blasting away as I type.

The sunrises have been pretty the last few days with patchy clouds filtering and refracting the early light. Making the choice of where to capture them is another story. There is no time to consider different options if you are rushing, half asleep, to an undecided location.

The swell is still from the east at around 2-3 feet, with Maroubra and Bronte catching most of it. The water has chilled a little with the consistent N-E wind up-welling the colder water from the bottom.

We look like getting a brief southerly change tonight which may bring some cooler sleeping conditions and warm the water a little, we will see. There is more rain predicted though, so get the washing done and keep the brolly handy.

That’s it from me today! Think I will watch a couple of heats of the Quicksilver Pro on Fuel TV and then hit the waves for a lunch time surf.

Have fun!

Billy
