Update 3rd July 2013

Well, you could say that it's pumping out there. More than the usual anyway. While it looks a little wobbly there looks to be some golden nuggets coming through every now and then.

This new ENE swell is hitting the 4 – 5ft mark and the NW wind is keeping things smooth. Tama or Maroubra are the pick of the bunch while Bondi is still looking ok just a foot or two smaller. There is a whole heap of water moving at Bronte so be careful if you happen to snap a leash out at Tama. Make sure you can actually swim before heading out today. No lifeguards are on duty. Your on your own!

I hope you find one of those golden nuggets today!

Brad 😉

Update 2nd July 2013

The wind was westerly this morning keeping it all very brisk down at the beach. There is a small 2 ft ESE swell getting into the bay and there was a lot of you out there in the south corner. It was busy, drop in galore in fact! Just another stock standard day at Bondi

The south corner is your best bet. Those on short boards will find it hard to get a good one. Those on longboards will score! Get out there quick as the wind is forecast to swing right around to the south and mess things up for the afternoon.

Enjoy your day. The sun is smiling! – Brad

Update 1st July 2013

There is a saying that goes, ‘If the 1st of July it be rainy weather, twill rain more or less for 4 weeks together’. Maybe it came a month early, because it’s been bucketing down for the whole of last month!

Maybe today’s brilliant start to the 2nd month of winter will be blessed with more sunshine. I hope so. Dark, dingy winters kind of suck, unless the surf is pumping of course! Then all the soft, sunshine surfers chicken out and we get the lineup to ourselves! Having just stepped off the plane from Indo, I’m feeling a little soft right now. I might need a teaspoon of cement in my morning coffee to get me back out there.

There are some fun little waves around today and quite clean in this light WSW wind. The water is still magic at around 18c and you may just get away with a 2mm short arm through the middle part of the day… If your tough!

Have a glorious week people. See ya Friday!

Update 28th June 2013

As I stepped out the airport arrival hall yesterday, a little weary thanks to a ‘red eye’ from KL,  I  stopped and strip off my jumper. It felt unusually warm a I dragged my heavy board bag towards the short term car park pick up zone.

Was this a little mercy from the weather god’s for my return to Australia? While away, my beautiful wife had kindly sent me texts warning me to make the most of the equatorial, Indo heat, because Sydney had well and truly descended into the abyss of single digit morning temps. With the sun on my back, it felt nice to be home.

That swell is still around. Probably a good 5 feet, with a few bigger ones occasionally at Tama and the Bra. The wind has gone a little funky but should stay relatively light for the remainder of the day and into Saturday morning, before another southerly crashes the party in the afternoon.

Hope you have a great weekend. Get some waves!

Update 27th June 2013

It's one big blow out – out there this morning. The wind is not really cooperating at all and just down right annoying. Where have these beautiful winter offshores gone to? It is blowing at about 15 knots straight from the ESE and into every nook and cranny. The swell is hitting the 4 – 5 ft mark and was looking too big for Bondi as per usual! There's lots of water moving around out there that was for sure. I'd rather be right here watching the Oakley Pro in Bali right now with some nice warm socks on.

The swell looks like it will ease in the next few days and tomorrow especially might be ok. Set that alarm clock for the early!

Enjoy your day folks….. Brad
