Do You Want To Marry Me ?

Hi Frothers !

Waves = messy and average. Weather = cloudy and average, but on the improve. People = not that many. Colours = none. Sub-total = not very exciting.

But because there is (almost) always something going on at the beach, even on a dull day like today, I found joy in witnessing this young man kneeling down on the beach in front of his Mrs to propose. I stopped breathing and pointed the camera at them…Click. Click. No wait for it…wait for it. Yes ! She said yes !

I wonder how many people have proposed on this very beach…

Hopefully tomorrow there will be surf, colours and proposals.

July in October

Hi Frothers !

I landed late last night from Fiji, and was frothing to hit our local beach in the morning to get back to the daily photographic routine, after 9 months of intense travelling.

So I woke up early and looked outside: grey, rainy, windy, & cold. The depressing combo. I thought I was back to Summer, but I feel we’re back in typical Winter day of July. What happened to Summer ?!

So instead, I’ll share a few shots from Fiji, as I think they’re far more worth your time than rainy shots of the ‘burbs.

Tomorrow should be looking much better for a stroll amongst the sculptures at sunrise. I’ll be there.

Sunny or rainy, It still feels awesome to be back in the Eastern bubble…This place rocks !

See you soon out there.

Epic

Bula Frothers,

When Cloudbreak decides to switch on (despite the wind), it’s on !

And as the size of the waves increases, the crowds shrink, leaving the entire place to just a happy (& skilled) few. Lifeguard and waterman Sean Woolnough was one of them, and he made the show during this epic sunset session.

I’m sure a lot of you could easily picture themselves in those barrels.

Now, take 5 minutes to mind-surf and get back to work !

Cheers,

Franck

Another Day In Paradise

Bula Frothers,

The colour of the water, its temperature, the variety of waves on offer, & the natural beauty of the place are a constant reminder that you’re in paradise. And this is a great feeling, whether you are on holidays or work here (like me).

Whilst Bede gave nearly made it yesterday in France, Fiji has been delivering some fun waves for everyone, far from the crowds.

But as the grass is always greener, I am actually quite impatient to be back in the Eastern Suburbs waters in about 10 days, back in the Ocean with you all, seeing all those smiles and familiar faces. After all, paradise is where you make it.

Enjoy the weekend ahead.

Cheers,

Franck

Windy Fiji

Bula Frothers,

It’s been a while, I know. We’re finally going to get back to our usual routine. After months of exploration of North of the Sun and trough the South American wonders, I am back in the region, and stoked to be. Not in Australia quite yet (soon: in a couple of weeks), but close enough to feel the warmth of Summer currently building up.

I am back in paradise island Namotu (what a way to finish such an intense year of travel !). Swell is certainly here, but there is a surprise-guest at the table: the wind. Unusual at this time of the year, the South-Easterly has been relentless for more than 10 days straight now, and much stronger than normal. But the likes of Beau Pilgrim or Sean Woolnough find this combo extremely exciting, and as the Photographer on the island, I won’t complain.

We should soon get a relief, and surfing will be back on the cards. I’ll be there.

Cheers,

Franck
