Yuk…Is the only word I can think of that describes the conditions on our beaches this morning. I am glad to be back in doors with my hot coffee! There ain't no waves to talk of just wind, rain and half foot slop.
I was a man on a mission with the lens moving quickly with the threat of guaranteed rain – trying my best to bring you guys your 7 shots of froth. It's not the best day for photo's out there and these images may bore you to tears but regardless, I am always up for the challenge and more than happy to do it all with a smile on my dial.
Put the board away today. Tomorrow will be better – still onshore but fun!
And If your on Instagram – check me out @bradmalyon – plenty of pretty pictures there for you!
Have the best weekend! Brad

The sunrise was in stealth mode this morning. The sun went from one side of the horizon to the other, totally unnoticed.
It’s one of those days that makes you wonder whether we really are on the brink of Summer…but it’s not raining, it’s relatively warm and the surf has cleaned up a notch.
Today’s password is: loggin
If you want to glide, then go thick, wide, and long. It’s a great day to leave the ropie in the car and walk the nose.
My pick for the waves is Bondi. Now, if you’d rather surf less waves but not be forced to share them with 3 others dudes, then Bronte had some waist high sets, fairly clean.
Let’s pray for the winds to be gentle on the week-end, since the South swell will be back (together with a bit more sun…hopefully…maybe….I hope).
Have a good one peeps’ !

There were two blondes sitting on the beach at Bondi this morning talking to each other about the total Solar Eclipse happening in Cairns, and one says to the other, “Which do you think is further away… the moon or Cairns?” The other blonde turns and says “Helloooooo, can you see Cairns?”
Fortunately, it ended up being clear enough up there for a decent viewing for all the people who risked traveling there from near and far to see it. Always a gamble I guess. We got totally skunked down here for our partial eclipse viewing with the heavy cloud cover upon us today. The next total eclipse for Sydney will be in 2028 and then there won’t be one for 830 years.
There are still a few junky waves around for the keen. Bondi has a few lumpy bumpies in the corner and the water has actually come up to a balmy 18c again so if you’re a Pommie backpacker, it’s boardies all the way. For the rest of us, stay in your 3/2 full suit while the cloud hangs around.

Bronte Baths 5:30 am and no room to swing a cat. Humans with cameras and tripods everywhere, feverishly waiting for a sunrise which never really quite happened. I strolled along the beach for a more private angle.
Small, junky mixed angle swell was hitting the reef and middle bank. A strong wind from one direction – south. Today’s surf report? Don’t expect to get tubed.
There was way more activity going down on the land than in the surf. East Side Crew fitness class was hard at it, with soft sand jogging followed by beach sprint relays. I felt puffed just watching but the ball game to finish looked like a lot of fun.
If you do go down for a dip today, be prepared for an ice-cream headache, the water temp has dropped to 16 degrees. And that’s pretty chilly!

Today is a good day to surf. Thanks to the ESE swell direction all beaches have a wave hitting 3ft. I skipped round to Bondi to check it out and found a fat burger right in front of the skate ramp working it's way slowly to the beach. I suspect that on the right tide, it may just turn on! So keep your eye on that one. There is also a left a little further up the beach but it is more suited to the long boards.
That shot of Lifeguard Dunstan Foss was taken with my new aquatech flash housing late last night at Bronte. It was actually the first shot of the session and it turned out a treat don't you think!
I have a couple of links for you today.
I caught up with DJ Sylvester Martinez from "Yolanda be Cool" this morning. It just so happens that they have a much anticipated new album out Nov 23rd – Check them out here – www.yolandabecool.com
Claudia Hirschberger (pictured) runs a pretty cool blog for all the girls out there that are interested in surfing…. venusgoesgidget.com There is some really cool info in there.
Happy Monday – Brad
